All important file formats

Manja DAM understands both, several raster graphic file formats and some vector graphic file formats. The range of supported file formats is consistently and continuously expanded.

Supported raster graphics formats:

  • TIFF (also multi-page documents)

Supported vector graphics formats and mixed formats:

  • SWF (Shockwave Flash)
  • SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)

  • GLB

For managing audio and video files, the separate Audio/Video Add-On is available.

Download Formats for files

For the download you as a user have the respective original file as well as files in the corresponding download formats (defined by an administrator) at your disposal.

In addition to the original file (not modified by Manja DAM), Manja DAM can generate files in the formats JPEG, PNG, TIFF and optimized PDF.

For audio and video files the separately obtainable Audio/Video Add-On is available.

Color Modes and Color Spaces

Manja DAM detects (ICC) color profiles embedded in the files and uses them for color fidelity on the monitor.

The color profiles are used when converting image data, e.g. to convert an image in the camera RGB profile to a selected CMYK color profile.

Manja DAM reads and processes the following color modes or color spaces supported by the respective file formats in 8, 16 or 32 bit color depth per channel:

  • RGB (with and without alpha channel)
  • CMYK
  • HSL/HSB/HSV
  • Grayscale (with and without alpha channel)
  • Monochrome
  • Duotones
  • L*a*b* (with and without alpha channel)
  • XYZ (with and without alpha channel)
  • YCbCr

Metadata

Manja DAM is capable of reading the following metadata standards embedded in files of the supported file formats and making them available within the software:

  • EXIF (camera data, GPS, orientation etc.)
  • IPTC-NAA standard (IPTC)
  • XMP
  • PNG Text
  • TIFF Tags
  • GIF Comments
  • PostScript comments
  • PDF Metadata

General metadata (author, title, description, etc.) can be added to file downloads in the XMP standard (configurable via download format).
